#Teechallaclothing LLC I think we’re in a time where fashion is more open to comedy. I went to the Team Spence ESJ The Logo Shirt What’s more,I will buy this Met Gala to begin with because Tory Burch had seen some comedy videos. Last year, I ran late and got out of the car and walked a block to the gala. I stepped in a puddle and got the bottom of my dress wet, and then suddenly I was next to Sarah Jessica Parker and the mayor. Of course I take it seriously, but there are just funny things happening. Exactly. With Tory, we had to stand in a large van on the way to The Met in order to not wrinkle the dress. We were in stop and start traffic and I felt like I was surfing in my ball gown. The level of glamor leads to humor. I’ve been obsessed with Karl Lagerfeld since I was a kid, so this is super surreal for me. And going back to comedy, I think Karl was one of the funniest designers ever. One year, for my birthday, I got a book of his quotes. My favorite quote, which I’m telling you as I’m wearing sweatpants, is, “Sweatpants are a sign of defeat. You’ve lost control of your life, and so you bought some sweatpants.” I need that on a pillow. Sam HyltonYou worked with designer Jackson Wiederhoeft on your look for this year’s Met Gala. What has the design process been like?
#Teechallaclothing LLC It’s been a dream. I discovered Jackson’s work about a year and a half ago. I saw his first runway show last September, and I burst into tears watching it. It was emotional! I just think he’s brilliant, and I was so excited to get to work with him on his first Met Gala look. It’s always amazing when you get to support emerging designers, which is how I felt about getting to wear Miss Sohee last year. But yeah, we are both so excited. When we learned we got to work together on this, there was a lot of, “This is major! This is major!” I love Karl’s use of flowers, roses, black and pink, and lace, so we wanted to honor that with this dress. I also recently watched the Team Spence ESJ The Logo Shirt What’s more,I will buy this Karl Lagerfeld episode of the show 7 Days Out. I was inspired by the way they were individually sewing the beads within the petals of the flowers.
